How WPM is Calculated
Standard typing speed measurements count 5 characters (including spaces and punctuation) as 1 standard word. TypingMeter calculates speed using the formula:
WPM = ( ( Correct Characters / 5 ) / Time in Minutes )
Raw speed includes all keystrokes typed (both correct and incorrect), while Accuracy reflects the percentage of clean keystrokes relative to total input.
